Family Support Service

Henna Singh is Southern Road’s family support worker; she can offer emotional and practical support for parent and carers facing short or long term challenges.

She can support in various ways with;

  • Family Activities
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Advocacy
  • Early Help                               
  • Health advice e.g. dental, hearing, optical, immunisation
  • Housing and welfare
  • Community participation and engagement
  • E-Safety
  • Families new to the borough
  • Completing written and online forms
  • Routines at home e.g. sleeping , potty training, boundaries, behaviour, safety in and outside the home
  • Promoting positive parenting and dealing with the transition of adolescents
  • Finances e.g. utility bills, budgeting, debt management
  • Employment, training and volunteering
  • Family breakdown and coping with bereavement
